Welcome to City Laser Hair Removal London

At City Hair Removal we have recently invested heavily in new lasers across all of our treatments. Due to rapid advances in laser technology we have trialled multiple lasers in order to find the laser that will provide the most effective and long term laser hair removal solution for all our clients.

Over the last 15 years treating clients (typically 50 clients per day), we have found that not everyone reacts the same way to lasers. For example, clients with PCO syndrome have very deep rooted hair on the facial area; this is typically difficult to remove, especially with hormonal imbalances. Step in the Lynton DUETTO MT laser, with this exclusive technology we are able to use 2 lasers at the same time in order to reach the correct depth and supply enough heat to kill the root of the hair. Many clients require alternative approaches to laser treatments this is why we have invested in multiple lasers, so that we can guarantee that our clients will finish their treatment with the best possible end result.

We now have 6 lasers for laser hair removal including: 2 Alexandrite lasers, 2 Nd:Yag lasers, a DUETTO MT laser and a Soprano XL laser. We use the gold-standard Elite Plus by Cynosure to maximise precision, effectiveness, and affordability for our clients that are suitable for Nd:Yag and Alexandrite lasers.

  • The lasers used for laser hair removal are aimed at the certain area of the skin then selectively absorb pigment in to the hair follicle. The pigment is heated and the hair follicle is destroyed without damaging the surrounding tissue. The hair will slowly start to fall out, roots that have been destroyed in that session will not produce another hair. Then you are well on your way to being hair free!

This depends on the laser Alexandrite and NDYAG hair removal lasers can be used with or without gel. The laser head is then chosen and placed on the skin and short pulses are released. However, to cool the skin both have a cryogen attachment, which discharges constant cold air at the same time as the laser to cool the skin (unlike the candela laser which only shoots are intermittently.

All skin types are suitable for laser hair removal as we have a variety of lasers. The best results are achieved with clients who have lighter skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of the pigment melanin. Fair hair has less melanin and is more difficult to treat and may require more treatments or one of our stronger lasers. Grey/white hair has no melanin and is not suitable for laser treatment.

This depends on the person, the colour and density of the hair and the area. Other factors include the type of laser used and for women- the time of the month. The Soprano XL laser hair removal machine is a state of the art procedure, a Diode laser specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, more comfortably, and with fewer visits than ever before. It gradually heats the hair follicle whilst the hand piece is passed over the same area constantly. It is said to feel like a hot stone massage. The NDYAG and Alexandrite lasers have the cool air which reduces the pain greatly, although some more sensitive areas can feel like an elastic band hitting against the skin. Some clients like to use Local anesthtic cream prior to treatment, which can really help for people with a low pain tollerance, this can only be used in conjunction with some lasers hair removal machines.

The skin is normally has Erythema (reddening of the skin) after treatment as well as swelling around the follicles, darker hair will asorb more heat and therefore may in some clients produced a stronger reaction. This can last from 24 hours-3 weeks depending on the person. The laserd hairs are shed after 1 – 3 weeks and fall naturally from the skin. During this period the hairs will seem to ‘grow’ as they are pushed out by the new skin. There may be a period of having no hair for a few weeks, depedning on the clients growth cycle, then the hair in the Anagen growth phase will begin to show again, typically finer and more slowly than before. After the 1st treatment, depending on skin and hair type the area can begin to look patchy.

The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles where the skin has been treated may be raised and bumpy, this usually subsides within a few hours. Very few people experience itching a few days later as the hair is pushed out. Stronger reactions are rare, but side effects can include blistering and hyper/hypopigmentation. This risk is greatly reduced when clients follow after care instructions and do not tan prior to and after treatments.
